Our team was recently engaged to renovate the ensuite of a 1930s traditional Clayfield Queenslander. The incongruous fittings and tiles were reminiscent of a commercial bathroom, and the partition wall and floating bulkheads made the spacious area feel cramped and dark. At the 2016 HIA “Women in the Building Industry” luncheon, we crossed paths with Nicole Cox, the 2015 winner of the HIA Business Partner Award and author of “The Builder’s Wife” blog. On her blog Nicole shares insights into the challenges of running a construction company with her husband; her personal experiences renovating her beautiful Queenslander at Ipswich; and the stories of other women in the building industry. BBR team members recently attended the 2016 HIA Queensland Gala Night at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre Plaza Ballroom, at which the annual Queensland Regional Housing Awards were presented. It was a fantastic evening featuring live entertainment from performers such as James Morrison and Queensland tenor trio Tenori, a multi-course meal, photo booth and a silent auction. Elegant swan lever tapware
Recently our company was contracted by Belinda in North Brisbane to renovate her bathroom, water closet, ensuite and laundry area.
Belinda had a clear vision of what she wanted for her renovation – black and white traditional style incorporating the convenience of modern fittings.
This renovation involved intricate tile work – geometric black and white floor tiles with a border around the edge of the room, white subway tiles for the wall, and a black horizontal feature tile around the walls.
As each floor tile was individually installed, our company needed to work closely with the client to ensure the correct quantity of black and white floor and border tiles. [Read more…]
